Adoption intensity of a standardized technical system: The higher the better?—Evidence from China

Under contract farming, companies usually develop compulsory standardized technical systems for farmers in developing economies. However, actual production, often have differences adoption intensity. Using data from 384 households and multinomial endogenous treatment effect regression, this study analyzes factors affecting the intensity of regarding estimates impacts on household incomes Chongqing, China. We adapt a regression framework to correct selection bias endogeneity originating both observed unobserved heterogeneity. The results show that some could significantly affect intensity, such as farmers, satisfaction with technicians, perception technology, attitude toward risks adopting technologies, number trainings, proportion leased land, distances townships technology extension stations. Different current perspectives, also indicate highest does not bring greatest benefits. Based characteristics plot, medium has significant quality improvements income growth. conclusion provides an empirical basis formulation evaluation policies apply countries.
